You most likely recognize words “pains”. It can be a verb or a noun, as well as indicates “to hurt” or “a discomfort”.
We often combine words “ache” with parts of the body. As an example, if our back hurts, we state that we have “backache” or “a backache”.
We do not do this with all parts of the body. For example, we can not claim that we have a “handache”.
